How does notifications work?

Modified on Wed, 4 Feb at 3:34 PM

Currently the way notifications work is that if a parent has logged into the "nForma for Parents" App, they will receive banner notifications on their phone as well as an email notifying them to log into the portal.

Those parents who do not want to download the app and only use the desktop URL, will receive an email.

Notification on the APP is via the banner style (not the bubble with the number inserted). It will also list the module that has a new item. HINT for parents: ensure that the banner is not set to temporary otherwise it will close and they will not have seen the notification

Notifications via email will include the listed module that has a new item directing the parent to login and view.

NOTE:

  • Administrators will get email notifications if a notice is sent
  • If a notice was sent and a HG was selected, then that teacher will also get an email notification
  • Staff notifications does not apply for nMeet and Forms.

Notifications are sent via a service every 5 minutes. Hence, the notification for the published item will not send immediately.
